Netpoint Manager – Plugins – SSH

 

 

Two major uses are “Secure remote shell” and “Secure FTP”

In addition, the SSH session can be implemented by using tunneling (for example, for clients in other network).

 

To open the SSH plugin :

Click “View” –> “SSH”

 

1. Secure Remote Shell

When applying Secure Remote Shell on a client, you get a command prompt and can apply commands on the clients.

To apply “Secure Remote Shell” :

Select a client  in Client Explorer.

Click the “Secure Remote Shell” button.

A “Service Logon” window will popup.

Select the “Basic” tab.

Check the “Open a tunnel” if tunneling is needed.

Press the “OK” button .

The remote shell opens ( very similar to DOS prompt ).

2. Secure File Transfer

To apply “Secure File Transfer” :

Select a client  in Client Explorer.

Click the “Secure File Transfer” button.

A “Service Logon” window will popup.

Select the “Basic” tab.

Check the “Open a tunnel” if tunneling is needed.

Press the “OK” button .

The Secure File Transfer opens.

Notes :

1. If the client has already SSH server, it can be connected by typing the credentials in “Advanced” tab:

2. By checking the “Use defaults” check box, the SSH session will apply without opening the “Service Logon” window.

It uses the default values for the client.
