Netpoint Manager – Plugins – Smart Recovery

Smart Recovery plugin allows to manage the SmartRecovery software on clients.

With this plugin you can apply the variance tasks on snapshots,baseline etc.

 

1. SmartRecovery dashboard

The dashboard displays client SmartRecovery information.

Click “View” –> “SmartRecovery”

The dashboard opens.

select a client.

The “Snapshots” section displays all snapshots.

Note: The current snapshot is shown with a big icon.

The “General Info” section displays information about disk partitions:

In addition, general information can be viewed in “SmartRecovery” section on “Clients” dashboard:

2. Applying tasks

Click “View” –> “SmartRecovery” and select the relevant task.

Alternatively, Click on the relevant icon from the menu bar:

1.  Sets administrator password

In the “New password” field, type the new password and press “Apply”

2. Register the program

Type in the license details in the relevant fields.

Note: Type the serial code with no dashes.

3. Update/Reset baseline

This Task allows to update the baseline from the current state or from a snapshot.

The options are:

Current state-updates baseline from the current system state.

Latest snapshot – updates baseline from the latest snapshot.

Update baseline to snapshot most closes to: – Select the date and time.

Update baseline to specific snapshot (by name)- Type the snapshot name.

Check the “Restart Client” for applying the task instantly with boot.

Otherwise it will apply on the next boot.

 

   Note: The “Current state” option will work with all Smart recovery versions.
The “Latest snapshot” option will work only with PRO and EDU versions (not with LTE),
and only when there is at least one snapshot in addition to baseline.

 

 

4. Restore system

This task allows to restore the system to a snapshot.

 

The options are:

Current state-Restore system to the current snapshot.

Latest snapshot – restore system to the latest snapshot.

Restore system to snapshot most closes to: – Select the date and time.

Restore system to specific snapshot (by name)- Type the snapshot name.

Check the “Restart Client” for applying the task instantly with boot.

Otherwise it will apply on the next boot.

 

5. Uninstall system

This task allows to uninstall the SmartRecovery on client.

in addition the system will restore to the specified snapshot.

The options are the same as in “Restore system” task.

 

6. Schedule task

This task allows to apply SmartRecovery scheduled task on client.

Actually it will set the protected (Auto Restore) mode of the SmartRecovery.

The options are:
1. Disabled mode – The system will take no action in boot.

This is the non protected mode.

To apply that, just leave the “Enable” check box unchecked.

2. Restore system  – the system will restore to the latest snapshot .

To apply that, check the “Enable” check box.

Select the restore option:

1. On each boot – this is the protected mode.

    2. Scheduled daily, weekly or monthly.

Note : In SmartRecovery EDU and LTE only the first option (on each boot) is relevant.

 

3. Take snapshot – The system will take snapshot

To apply that, check the “Enable” check box.

Select the “Take snapshot” option:

1. On each boot – this is the protected mode.

 

    2. Scheduled daily, weekly or monthly.

Note: this option is relevant only to SmartRecovery PRO.

 

7. Take snapshot

This task allows to take a snapshot.

Type the snapshot name and description (optional).

Check the “Restart Client” for applying the task instantly with boot.

Otherwise it will apply on the next boot.

 

Note : Do not name a snapshot with a name that already exists.

 

8. Rename snapshot

This task allows to rename an exist snapshot.

Select the relevant option:

Current snapshot, Latest snapshot , snapshot most close to date, or specific snapshot.

In “New snapshot Name”, type the new name.

 

 

9. Delete Snapshot

This task allows to delete an exist snapshot.

Select the relevant option:

Snapshot most closes to date, or specific snapshot.

Check the “Restart Client” for applying the task instantly with boot.

Otherwise it will apply on the next boot.

 

Note: only snapshot that are not current or latest can be deleted.
